The Dept. of Cardiac Surgery is located in the new building of the Perioperative Center at the Medical Campus Schillingallee.

You will find the cardiac surgery ward, two surgical theaters and the intensive care unit (ICU) as well as the intermediate care unit (IMC) at the first upper floor of the building. In the basement the outpatient clinic and modern diagnostic facilities (1.5 T cardiac MRI, 32/64 line CT Scanner, and 3d/4d realtime echocardiography.

Postoperatively patients will be taken care of at the interdisciplinary ICU, managed by the Dept. of Anesthesiology and intensive Care Medicine from where patients will be transferred to a specialized intermediate care unit, located at the cardiac surgery ward. After moving to the new building, now we can offer the best medical care in a state-of-the-art environment. The vital parameters of all patients are monitored continuously.
